Description
The therapy ball is a staple of sensory integration therapy. Occupational therapists use it in many ways, and many individuals have sensory diets that include some type of activity using an inflatable therapy ball. Balls are used as aids for vestibular movement and equilibrium therapy, and as an aid for stretching and strength programs.
Exercise balls provide a variety of sensory motor input, and playing with them helps develop motor planning.
Exercise balls can be used for many sensory activities, and are an affordable option for flexible seating to encourage attention and focus.
The CanDo® balls have a non-slip surface that is ribbed for extra security. The balls may be "under" inflated to give a soft, mushy feel or fully inflated for a firm, bouncy feel.
